1- Eat a balanced diet: Focus on eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
2- Exercise regularly: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity.
3- Get enough sleep: Adults should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night.
4- Stay hydrated: Aim to drink at least 8 cups (64 ounces) of water per day.
5- Don't smoke: Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable death and disease. If you smoke, talk to your doctor about quitting.
6- Limit alcohol intake: If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. For healthy adults, that means up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men.
7- Reduce stress: Find ways to manage stress, such as through relaxation techniques, exercise, or talking to a therapist.
8- Wash your hands frequently: good hand hygiene can help prevent the spread of illness.
9- Get vaccinated: Vaccines can help protect you and your community from serious diseases.
10- Practice safe sex: Use condoms and other barriers to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections.
