- Exercise regularly to strengthen your core muscles and improve flexibility.
- Use good posture when standing, sitting, and lifting to avoid putting unnecessary strain on your back.
- Lift heavy objects properly by bending your knees and using your leg muscles to lift, rather than your back.
- Avoid sitting in one position for long periods of time. Take regular breaks to stand up and stretch.
- Use a lumbar roll or other supportive device to maintain the natural curve of your lower back when sitting.
- Sleep on a mattress that is comfortable and supportive to help keep your spine in alignment.
- Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes to help reduce strain on your back.
- Avoid smoking, as it can reduce blood flow to your spine and contribute to back pain.
- If you have a desk job, make sure your computer monitor is at eye level, your chair is comfortable and supportive, and you have a good workspace setup to reduce the risk of back pain.
